Day 87 thru 91

Day 91 {Who needs a Tripod?}

 I'm pretty sure that my daughters generation is going to grow up with a ton of pictures of themselves an arms length away.

Day 90 {Ride em cowboy}

 Jim had the day off so we all went down to the Ranch to see Rusty.  Everyone got a chance to ride him.  I even rode him for the first time.  Well, I was kind of nervous so I had Jim lead Rusty around while I sat on his back.  It's a start.

Day 89 {Yearly}

I had my yearly exam today.  Somehow the eggs seemed like an appropriate shot for the day. :)

Day 88 {And the Oscar for the best baby ever goes to.........}

We spent the day at the zoo today.  I had a lot of fun shots, but I wanted to share a picture of Ty, my cousins youngest, and the worlds best baby.  Seriously.....this little dude just sat and smiled the entire visit.  They are home now and we are all missing them!

Day 87 {Day at the beach}

Perfect beach weather!

Day 62 thru 67

Day 67 {Lunch}

 Homemade salsa, zucchini and black bean tacos.   MMMMM!

****************
Day 66 {New Do}

 Kate got her hair cut on Saturday!  Silly me didn't bring my camera so this is the day after shot. She is loving her new bangs and layered cut.

********************

Day 65 {Mexican food}

 Saturday night dinner out.

************************

Day 64 {Silly Teens}

 I actually didn't take this shot (mine were boring), but it is my Nikon 550S point and shot camera so I can use it......right?  I love how much fun the girls were having taking pictures of themselves at the JV Soccer Banquet.  I thought this was such a fun creative pose.

**********************

Day 63 {Tile}

I was out looking at tiles and granite samples for our new kitchen.  I am always drawn to glass mosaic tiles.  We might be using them in our new back splash.   I really do wish there weren't so many choices though.  It is over whelming!!!

****************

 Day 62 {Texture}

Shadow House Creations (link on side bar) has a tutorial up on how he creates his awesome textures.  After reading it I ran around taking pictures so that I can make some of my own textures (this is a shot of that threshold on our back patio door.....I didn't realize it was so jacked up).

I'll let you know if I come up with anything worth sharing!

Day 58 thru 61

Day 61 {Salsa}

The tomatoes are sweating because they are about to become salsa!

***************

Day 60 {Ick}

Today I had the plans for our kitchen remodel redrawn.  I will not miss this disgusting sink!

*****************
Day 59 {Babies first pair of spikes}

 I swear, kids are money pits!  Reid is now on the track team.  Which means new running shoes and spikes.  Money pits!

Day 58 {It's raining it's pouring....}

The title kind of says it all.  We had a strange day of off and on bursts of rain.

Now I have to actually count!

Day 33 {FEED ME}

When it is dinner time the dogs will literally sit and stare at me until I get up and feed them. Xena (the big one) will nudge me with her nose if I ignore them too much.

*************

Day 32 {Halftime}

Not their best game!

Ok, now that the month has switched to February we can no longer count on the calendar to tell us what day of the project we are on.  I have to write the number down to make sure I don't make a mistake.  I made a mistake last year and it wasn't fun to go back and fix it. :)

Day 11 {Visiting the VP}

Today was a first for me. I had to go to the Vice Principles office to ask for my daughters confiscated phone back. Normally something like this would result in my daughter getting into a lot of trouble (she has never actually been in trouble), but she got caught responding to my text!

Whoops!

Day 302 thru 304

Day 304 {Happy Halloween}

I think this is the first year that the girls are wearing costumes that looked similar!
Kate is a Polar Princess and Reid is an Indian.

*********************

Day 303 {Stackers}

This project makes me do weird things with food!

****************

Day 302 {Long legs}

Not your traditional ballerina.

Day 297 and 298

Day 298 {take me away}

Torrey Pines Glider Port.

It amazes me that anyone would throw themselves off a perfectly good cliff.....but it does look like fun!

*****************

Day 297 {Homecoming}

The girls first High School dance.

In all the excitment I completely forgot to take an individual shot of Reid (3rd from the left).

Day 292 thru 296

Day 296 {Looking for the light and finding it}

My bloggy friend Chris mentioned on his blog how photographers are attracted to light.

I couldn't agree more! In case you can't tell what in the heck this shot is....it is my cat peeking out of our partially opened garage door (that is my car to the right).

The light is from the rising sun.

*********************

Day 295 {Field Hockey Win}

Reid's team had another victory today and she was the one that scored the teams only goal.

It happened within the first few minutes of the game.

It happened while I was heading to my car to get the backpack of one of the girls that was feeling sick and needed to leave.

Drats!

************************

Shooting a costume I made! It was one of the shots for my Photo Story Friday post.

************************

Day 293 {Yiks}

I went into my bedroom to make my bed. I almost had heart failure when my pillow moved!

Apparently Molly thought that the pillow sham was a doggie sleeping bag.

********************

Day 292 {Puffy Clouds}

I couldn't believe how surreal these two clouds looked just sitting there casting their shadow on my neighbors.

Looking at this shot it make me wonder how many times I have posted pictures of this view!

Day 264 thru 270

Day 270 {Accessorize}

Kate thought that Rusty needed his "bangs" out of his eyes while he ate his "cookies."

*******************

Day 269 {14 year's old}

Reid shares her birthday with her Daddy, but for the past 14 years the day has pretty much been all about Reid.

******************

Day 268 {Summer}

Day 267 {Kate was here}

Kid graffiti!

**********************
Day 266 {Lovely site}

So creepy, yet so pretty.

*********************
Day 265 {Jump}

Field Hockey Rule: If the ball hits your foot possession turns over!

************************
Day 264 {Nature}

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Day 252 {Field Hockey}

Today was the first Junior Varsity Field Hockey game for Reid and her team.
She started and played nearly the entire game.

They played well, but in the end lost 0-1.

Day 248 thru 251

Day 251 {Back to School}

It was off to their first day of Middle School and High School!

*******************

Day 250 {Labor Day}

The site where the girls and I did some geocaching.

*********************

Day 249 {Lamp}

10:45 in the evening and I am just realizing that I haven't taken a picture for the day.
365er's.....meet my bedside lamp!
*********************

Day 248 {Back to School Hair cuts}

Monday, August 31, 2009

Day 240 thru 243

Day 243 {Something miniature}

I participated in a Photo Hunt this month (you can see the shots on my other blog).
I was missing a shot of something miniature, so I went outside this morning to find something small and much to my delight I discovered that Kate and her friend had left their flower fairy's in the yard! SCORE!
******************************

Day 242 {Jump}

Nothing like a family leap into the pool!
**********************

Day 241 {Smokey Sunset}

It always amazes me how a little smoke in the atmosphere can create the most incredible sunsets. You can see the clear blue sky hovering above the layer of smoke.
*************************

Day 240 {Another Sunset}

Another spectacular sunset.

Thursday, August 27, 2009

Day 235 thru 239

Day 239 {Coffee Mug Cake}

I saw a recipe for microwavable coffee mug cake on a friends website and the girls decided they had to try it.

It looked less like a giant turd once it was sliced! It will never replace real baked cake, but it was kind of yummy (with a ton of icing on it).

****************************
Day 238 {Sunset}

There is a fire somewhere in the LA area. Smoke in the air equals brilliant sunsets.

*************************

Day 237 {Screaming Fun}

Reid made the Field Hockey team at the High School and on Tuesday they went down to the beach to take their team picture.

Afterward Reid and her friends took off their uniforms and ran in the ocean. We were at a beach that has shore break waves and they were BIG. You could hear them screaming all the way down the beach!

*****************************

Day 236 {You've got mail}

What I hate most about coming back from vacation!

***********************

Day 235 {Rusty the Wonder Horse}

Meet Rusty the Wonder Horse (he is on the right).
Rusty is the newest member of our family.

Day 226 thru 234 {South Dakota}

I'm back! We had a great time in the black hills of South Dakota. In nine days I took a total of 550 pictures.

On most days we would usually leave the house at around 10:00 and not return until 8:30 in the evening. Needless to say our days were full.

I had so many shots that it was hard picking just one to represent each day!

Day 334 {Log cabin with a view}

This is the incredible view from our friends log cabin (where we stayed). This shot was taken early in the morning while the sun was coming up (which is why the black hills look so light).

I was sitting out on the deck enjoy some french toast. This was the most peaceful view to wake up to each morning.

Thanks Linda for a great trip!

************************************

Day 233 {Geo cache Travel Bug}

Today we explored Jewel cave, shopped in Custer and then headed out to do some more Geo Caching.

I found our second cache of the day and inside the cache was a Travel Bug. A travel bug is a trackable geo caching item and I was excited to find it.

Unfortunately I left it behind in South Dakota, but a friend is going to mail it out to me so that the travel bug can continue his journey on the west coast.

****************************

Day 232 {Panning for Gold}

Today was another day of running all over sight seeing. Before heading out to do some Geo caching we stopped at Wade's Gold Mill so that the girls could try their hand at panning for gold.

**************************

Day 231 {Leads SD, strip mine}

Today was one of those days when we drove all over the Black Hills. One of the places we stopped was Lead, a very old mining town.

We stopped and checked out the giant strip mine hole in the ground. About 5 minutes after I took this picture it began to pour rain. That is my mom with the girls!

*********************************

Day 230 {Slyvan Lake}

On our tour of Custer State Park we stopped to hike around the picturesque Slyvan Lake.

There were several spots around the lake where you could climb on the rocks. That made my little rock climber Kate happy.....scared the hooey out of me!

**********************************

Day 229 {Teddy Bear Town}

Before having dinner at the Alpine Inn, we stopped in "Teddy Bear Town."
Teddy Bear Town boast a collection of 6,500 different teddy bears and on it's sign claims to be a great "time killer."

The woman that owns the collection used to house all 6,500 of her bears in her room at the Motel 8! This picture is only the tip of the iceberg.

*******************************

Day 228 {Mt. Rushmore}

Ah, the famous Mt. Rushmore. We cruised down the street to see Crazy Horse as well.

*******************************

Day 227 {Exploring Hill City}

Day two and we decided to head into Hill City and look in all the cute shops they have on main street (which is probably 1/2 mile long).

This interesting horse sculpture reminded me of an eye spy book. You could sit for hours identifying all of the crazy parts that make up this sculpture.

***************************

Day 226 {George Mickelson Trail}

We arrived in Rapid City to stormy skies, but by the time we arrived in Hill City the sun had come out.

After dropping our stuff off at the cabin we headed down the hill to take a hike on the Mickelson Trail. A great way to shake off an afternoon of traveling.
