Day 301 {Fly away}

The wind today is so strong that I had a hard time keeping it steady while taking pictures. I came over to take a picture of all these cormorants sitting on the cliff when they decided to take off. I think they were being bugged by the seals that were on the rock next to them.

We literally have one tree on the block that has leaves that change colors and fall off. It is on the property line between my house and my neighbors.

Day 296 {Looking for the light and finding it}

My bloggy friend Chris mentioned on his blog how photographers are attracted to light.

I couldn't agree more! In case you can't tell what in the heck this shot is....it is my cat peeking out of our partially opened garage door (that is my car to the right).

The light is from the rising sun.

Day 295 {Field Hockey Win}

Reid's team had another victory today and she was the one that scored the teams only goal.

It happened within the first few minutes of the game.

It happened while I was heading to my car to get the backpack of one of the girls that was feeling sick and needed to leave.

Drats!

I went into my bedroom to make my bed. I almost had heart failure when my pillow moved!

Apparently Molly thought that the pillow sham was a doggie sleeping bag.

Day 292 {Puffy Clouds}

I couldn't believe how surreal these two clouds looked just sitting there casting their shadow on my neighbors.

Looking at this shot it make me wonder how many times I have posted pictures of this view!

Day 291 {Crash}

On the way home from the retreat we were caught in a short traffic jam due to this accident.
Despite the damage to the car, it didn't appear that anyone was seriously injured.

Day 290 {Retreat treat}

Jim and I attended a retreat out at the La Quinta Resort this weekend.
It was 100 degrees during the day (we were in the desert) and a pleasant 75 degrees in the evening.

After several hours of mingling, I snuck away with my camera to practice taking night shots.

This was the pool right outside our suite. The resort boasted 41 pools on their property. I guess when you have a resort in a town that has hot hot weather nearly year around you make sure you have plenty of pools to go around!

Day 286 {Beautiful sunrise}

The front of our house faces directly east, which means the back faces directly west.
This shot is from the back yard and I usually show it during the sunset.

This was the sunrise reflecting off the clouds....this picture doesn't begin to capture how gorgeous it was.

A trip to see Rusty always means extra jeans in my Monday load of laundry.

A trip to the ranch typically ends with a meal at our favorite taco shop.
I'm pretty sure Kate's favorite part of the stop is her access to the cheap (probably led filled) toys she gets out of the vending machines.

I dragged the girls around town looking for neat things to photograph (I need a neon shot for this months photo hunt).

I don't typically shot at night because my camera and it's lens aren't really fast enough to get the sharpness I desire in a night shot. But this one didn't turn out that bad.

It was nearly 11:00 on a Friday evening and I couldn't wait to go to sleep.

Then I realized I still needed a shot for the day.
I so wanted to skip it......but Hubby gave me the push I needed......to yell for one of the girls to bring me my camera bag.

The girls won their second game today. I think that this was the first time that they really started playing like a "team." Go UC-JV!

It was towards the end of the day and I was shooting into the sun so this isn't the best picture of the day, it is the only picture of the day.

Then I forgot to watch the news to find out what was on fire.
