Day 35 {Old school}

I was cleaning out some drawers in Reid's closet and I found several old viewmaster slides (or are the cartridges?).  Even though we not longer have the actually viewmaster thing-a-ma-jiggy, I can't bring myself to get rid of them.

For something so low tech and old school, they still hold a special place in my heart.

Hey, I had a viewmaster when I was a child and that was 60 years ago! Even my six-year-old grandson got one for Christmas or birthday a couple years back and I was stunned that they still make them. They're a little low-tech for today's kids, but I must agree that they were a special toy. I could flip those disks for hours in traveling all over the world!

What great memories your picture brought up! I had Alice in Wonderland slides (or cartridges). I don't think I could get rid of them either :)

I remember these! I think you should save them too - I hear they aren't making them anymore so they may be worth something in the future.

That brings back some fun memories...I had one of those when I was a kid (eons ago, lol)...it was Gullivers Travels and I'd lay back looking through that all day long. :)

My kids actually still have those! We actually have a projector thingy that lights them up and projects the images on their walls. They think it's cool :)

Omigosh, what a blast from the past! I remember our ole viewfinder... I think us 3 kids used to fight over it all the time. Great pic of the slide here.

I had one of them when I was a kid, and I know my kids had one too. It was a clever idea but our kids today are used to so many more cool things.

You COULD take a photo of each of them and then toss 'em.... just an idea.

I have several viewmaster slides packed away from when I was a kid. I may even still have the viewmaster. Great shot, and memories!

I saw the other two View Master shots, but somehow I missed this one -- this is my favorite one! I love how you caught the color of each slide -- very cool!
