Day 151 {Homemade}

I let Kate make donuts this morning.  Since I don't ever make fried foods this was a rare treat.
Kate deemed donut making the best part of her weekend.

Day 150 {Lights}

Night shot down at the beach.

Day 149 {Cousins}

Day 148 {Award}

I am not normally a horn tooter, but on Thursday I received a Golden Oak Service Award
from the PTA.
The Golden Oak Award is the most prestigious of the state PTA's service awards, reserved for individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to the welfare of children and youth in a school or community.
I don't usually care about stuff like this, but after 9 years service to my girls Elementary school PTA it felt good to be recognized in such a big way!
Toot toot!

Day 147 {Recycle}

Just waiting to become cash in Reid's pocket.

Day 146 {Allioop}

May gray b-ball!

Day 145 {Test Temple}

I often forget that I can manipulate the white balance on the camera, so while I was waiting for my daughter to get out of the movie theater I chose the Mormon Temple that was across the freeway as my tester for the different White balance settings.
The color is enhanced, but I shot this one with the florescent light white balance.
It gave me the whitest building and bluest sky of all the settings.

Day 144 {Beautiful weekend}

This girl knows how to pose in the air.  Look out America's next top model!

Day 143 {BBQ season is here}

We may have year around great weather, but Memorial Day weekend is the start to summer and BBQ season!

Day 142 {In living color}

Bucking the system!

Day 141 {California Poppy}

California weeds.....I mean poppy's!

Day 140 {Embarrassing}

With much difficulty I managed to capture the wee ones last day of Cafeteria duty!
"Mom.....this is embarrassing" "Are you going to put this on your blog?"
"Can't you wait until I take off my hair net."

Day 139 {Skip to my Lou}

Nothing like a late afternoon skip down the street!

Day 138 {Jump}

I had a Girl Scout meeting on Monday.  Since I was still brain dead from all of the  school
performance stuff I didn't have a lot planned.  Good thing the girls can find their own fun!

They were practicing their running long jump skills.

Day 137 {Flowers}

Sunday evening, 8:00 and I haven't taken a picture for the day.  Since I have several bouquets of flowers siting around making my house smell pretty they become the subject for the day.

Day 136 {Rescue 911}

Probably hard to see....but this is a shot of the firefighters rescuing a man who drove off the freeway and into the canyon late in the afternoon.  Ouch!

Day 135 {Wrap Party}

I pulled my camera out just long enough to take a picture of the food at the "wrap" party.  Then I shoved it back in it's bag and relaxed.......for the first time in several weeks!!!

Day 133 {One Down...Three to Go}

Great job girls....you rocked your first show!

Day 132 {Prehistoric}

Costume check!  All ready for the first show on Wednesday!  Break a leg girls.

Day 131 {Late}

In 131 days of this 365 day project I have yet to miss a day.  With that said, there have been one than one occasion when I have gotten to the end of the day and realized that I still needed to take a picture.

Today's excuse: I was exhausted from dress rehearsal and the preparations that led up to it.  Fortunately for me, my 13 year old grabbed my camera bag for me so I didn't even have to get up off the couch to take this shot.

Day 130 {Happy Mother's Day}

Best Grandma/Mom ever!

Day 129 {Thank's}

These are the Candy bars that I am "making" to give to the fifth graders on Friday night (after our last performance).  I only have 50 more to go!

Before thinking I am really clever, I totally poached the idea and design from my very talented friend Barbara.  But I did manage to figure out how to recreate it in QuarkXpress!  That is huge for me.

The Journey in Time logo was also created by Barb!  Thanks Barbara.  Now when you are going to start designing blogs???  :)

Day 128 {Braces}

Reid just got her top braces put on.  Sorry Reid.......blame it on your Dad.  :)

Day 127 {Roses}

Right now everyone's roses are in full bloom.  The aroma coming off of these beauties is intoxicating.

Day 126 {Helicopter}

If you have been following my 365 blog you know by now that I live on top of a canyon.

Several houses down the street from me the electrical wires branch off from our street and run down into the canyon, stretch across the freeway and reach into the next neighborhood.  Since the electrical poles and wires are set on steep hillside full of brush the Gas and Electric company must check them out via Helicopter.

The poles in the canyon are set below my house so when the helicopter starts flying towards the cul-de-sac of the canyon they are literally flying at the same level that my house sits.

The first time I saw them doing this it almost gave me a heart attack!  Nothing like looking out your back door and literally being eye to eye with a helicopter pilot.

Day 125 {Working Out}

My friend and I have decided to start meeting at the gym four days a week to work out together.  Our one rule......you can't call in advance if you are going to flake.  One flake can lead to two flakes.  So best to keep your flaking to yourself.

It is amazing how fast the time flies when you have someone to chat with!

Day 124 {Humming Bird}

Hello my little friend!

Day 123 {Lizard Highway}

The fence between my house and my neighbors seems to be a lizard highway.  You can almost always find a lizard or two scampering across the top of the fence.  I was outside this morning making sure Molly didn't escape into the canyon and I caught this little guy doing push ups.

Day 122 {Snow Globe}

I forgot to take my camera out with me today, so today's picture is of what I look at before I got to sleep each night.

My daughter bought me this snow globe when she went to Yosemite for a week with her 7th grade class.  It was a sweet gift.

Day 121 {JERK}

On Wednesday, after a very looooong School Performance practice I came out to my car to discover that some JERK had left some of their cars paint on the front bumper of my car.

My car was parked out on the street near school and I am pretty sure that the person who did this was too lazy to drive a few houses down and U-turn in the cul-de-sac and instead tried unsuccessfully to make a three point turn near my car.

Needless to say I have been eye-balling white mini van owners!!!

Day 120 {Ironing}

When my girls were little their Daddy would iron their clothes in the morning.  They got used to putting on warm, unwrinkled clothes.....a habit was formed.

Now that the girls are older (13 and 10) they iron their own clothes.  Like brushing their teeth, it is a part of their morning routine.

Day 119 {Shawdow}

I tried to take a few pictures of the kids on stage during the finale practice.  Unfortunately I still need a lot of practice getting good low lighting shots.  This is the only shot that was sort of in focus!

When I first looked at this picture I was disappointed that I didn't catch the girls looking forward.  But then on second look I loved the picture because I realized that I had captured the exact moment when the two girls discovered their shadows on the back curtain.

Day 118 {Stage Direction}

Tuesday, 10:30 in the evening and I just finished up my Back Stage directors notes for Wednesday's cast practice.  I realized at that time that I hadn't taken a picture for the day.  So, here you have a shot of my directors notes and a few props waiting to be put into use!
